Backyard Pecans with Brad Secraw, Agriculture Educator
“A couple pecan trees can be great edible ornamental shade trees for your property. However, they do come with their share of problems. These can include empty nuts with a hole in the shell, shucks that don’t open, black shucks, poor nut fill, and no nuts at all. While commercial pecan production can be quite complicated, even someone with just a couple trees and limited resources can do a few simple things to improve nut production and quality. Whether you are looking for a recommendation on what trees to plant or you have inherited pecan trees on your property, this program is designed to help anyone make the most of their trees.”
